Addressing the nation from the Red Fort, Modi stated, "If any policy is against India's farmers, fishermen, cattle rearers, Modi is standing like a wall." He further highlighted the global economic challenges, noting, "Today, when economic selfishness is rising day by day in the global situation, it is the need of the hour that we don't sit crying over those crises. The U.S. has recently imposed a 25% tariff on Indian goods, citing India's continued purchase of Russian oil amid the Ukraine conflict. In response to these developments, India's Ministry of Commerce and Industry has initiated extensive consultations with exporters, industry bodies, and relevant stakeholders.
